European Training Day 2006

One of the first activities in the area of trainings conducted by FRONTEX was the European Training Day 2006. Its developmenttook place in Traiskirchen, Austria, on 16 - 18 November 2005 using the former ACT premises. Representatives of border guard services from most Member States, Norway and Switzerland participated in the event together with the acceding countries, Romania and Bulgaria, as observers. A CD-based training tool was cooperatively developed, introduced and distributed. This training tool includes an informative part (information on Member States´ bodies responsible for border control and on FRONTEX) as well as an educational part. The educational part concentrates in 2006 on training on falsified documents (basic level) and on the Schengen border code. On the basis of this training tool, further training for all Border Guard officers (appx. 390 000) within national further training activities was enabled.
