Frontex is an autonomous EU Agency and has therefore its own Financial Regulation.
In accordance with art.74 of this Regulation the relevant provisions of the EU general Financial Regulation (Council Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 1605/2002 of 25 June 2002 on the Financial Regulation applicable to the general budget of the European Communities (OJ L 248 of 16.09.2002), as last amended) including Title V for Procurement and the Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 2342/2002 shall apply, subject to exceptions provided for in paragraphs 4 to 7 of this Article.
According to the above mentioned Title V for Procurement, the choice of the tender procedure and advertising requirements depends mainly on the threshold amounts of the contracts foreseen and is currently as follows:
