Recruitment principles

FRONTEX has an independent and separate recruitment process from other EU institutions or other EU agencies.  FRONTEX organize subsequently the recruitment procedures with a view to fill in the vacant posts according to the Agency recruitment needs and plans.
The recruitment procedure is carried out in line with the following principles:

  • FRONTEX launch recruitment by publishing vacancy notices on the European Personnel Selection Office website and at the Agency Internet site;
  • vacancy notice contains all the necessary information on the post in question and the selection procedure;
  • for an application to be considered valid, it must be delivered using FRONTEX Standard Application Form within the established deadline;
  • recruitment procedure is open to all the candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria specified in the vacancy notice - at the initial stage of procedure, it is verified whether an application meets the eligibility criteria;
  • all the eligible applications are pre-screened and evaluated based on the selection criteria defined in the vacancy notice;
  • the best-qualified candidates, who obtained the highest number of points within the evaluation, are short listed for an interview;
  • during the interviews session, the selection committee examines the profiles of candidates and assess their relevancy for the post in question;
  • as a result of the interviews, the selection committee recommends the most suitable candidates for the post in question;
  • based on the recommendation of the selection committee, the Executive Director takes his decision on the appointment of the successful candidate.
